Seton Catholic Central Wins the Broome County
Mock Trial Championship
(Binghamton, NY) Seton Catholic Central’s Mock Trial Team won the 2017 Broome County Championship Tuesday at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Binghamton. Seton’s team faced the team from Susquehanna Valley. Broome County Supreme Court Justice Ferris Lebous presided.
Seton’s Team members are Brendan Burtis, Tom Davis, Jacob Donlin, Christine Fang, Elisa Faughnan, Angela Klawiter, Olivia Li, Joe Ryan and Sarah Majercik-Scott. The team is coached by Seton teacher Dave Jones and attorney Elizabeth Sopinski.
“This victory is the culmination of hours of diligent work and preparation,” said Richard A. Bucci, President, Catholic Schools of Broome County. “We are proud of the team’s exceptional critical thinking, analytical and communication skills and are excited for them as they move into regional competition.”
The first round of regional competition is Saturday, April 22.
